I am moving VERY soon to start my Job, and my Husband is staying behind to close up the house...Im sorting out the details...
I have to fly from RDU to NY twice and each time drive something back to NC.
Then, on one or 2 alternate weekends my Husband will be driving down to Raleigh and then flying back up to ny for work.

We will wind up needing 3 or 4 one way tickets... Does anyone know if there is a way to do this for less money than normal one way tickets? One way is so expensive- do any airlines sell ""packs" or anything similar?

Check kayak.com? One way flights to NYC are $87. Time was you could book round trips cheaper than one way and burn the other ticket or give it to someone else. With the new TSA rules, their name needs to be on the return trip tix.

Something you should check out is orbitz.com and do a multi city ticket. You can set all the dates etc etc, that should work out well for you. Orbitz is a great site

JetBlue is about the cheapest you'll find for one-way ...we've flown them a couple times to JFK. They also often have cheap mid-week fares - $39 - if you can swing that with your schedule. Regardless, it is practically a commuter flight between RDU and JFK because they don't always require the roundtrip to get the certain fare they offer.

If all else fails buy separate round trip tickets. Just be sure the 1st leg of your round trip is the portion you will be flying!

Southwest flies into LaGuardia. Also I think JetBlue flies up to NY for relatively cheap.

To get southwest fares, you'll have to go to their website. Essentially, they only sell one-way tickets -- their flights display prices for each leg, so if you fly round-trip, they just add up the two legs. So you don't get dinged for flying one-way. Southwest Airlines | Book Flights, Airline Tickets, Airfare will get you to the southwest website. I fly them a lot. I have never flown JetBlue but have heard they are very efficient as long as there are no weather issues.

Best of luck!
