If you wanted to be the Creative Director or Manager of New Product Development for a Tour Company (creating the tour packages to destinations all over the world), Desitination Marketing Company, etc. what would be the most helpful major?

International Studies? International Finance? Marketing? Tourism isn't really a major, its more of a certificate program.......who knows????? all advice appreciated. Anyone do this? Know someone who does this?

THANKs!

Im not sure if I know what you mean as far as what you want to do. Do you want to create travel itineraries or do you want to create and distribute the glossy flyers? In either case it depends on what point you are at in your life. If you are young and have no children and are just starting school, there are many schools that offer wonderful hospitality bachelors programs. Cornell University has one of the best hospitality programs in the country. Johnson and Wales in Providence Rhode Island may have the best program. I think George Mason in Virgina and also Purdue Univeristy in W. Lafayette Indiana have travel and tourism programs. Those are the schools that I know of because I thought I wanted to be in the travel industry and I got an associates degree in hospitality and considered exapanding into a bachelors. I ended up going in a totally different direction thank goodness, but the programs are out there.
