You would have to look it up. I think that there are cruises from the West Coast, but the destination is typically Mexico. I think that a Hawaiian Island cruise might start over there. I believe American President Lines actually crossed the whole Pacific, with a stop in Honolulu, but that was decades ago. Regular transoceanic scheduled service really only exists between NY and England, on the "Queen Mary 2."

By law cruise ships of foreign registry that crusie to US ports must stop at least at one foreign port. Departing from CA then to Ensada is the usual stop then on to Hawaii or comming from Hawaii then they stop at Ensada then to CA.

That really sucks for me as there are few cruises that leave out of Los Angeles (my closest port) that DO NOT sail into Mexico.

Here is a rather interesting site that shows the current position of most cruise ships.
Cruise Ship Tracker

According to that site - the Golden Princess is off the California coast heading for Hawaii.

Well it's not the same hemisphere or the same journey but the Kon-Tiki voyage with six men on a (albeit well-stocked) raft showed that something like that was at least possible!

Yeah -it would be rather hard to stock a kayak for that type of journey - would need to lash storage rafts or other kayaks to carry everything.

Seattle is probally closer to Honolulu. Think of the routes airplanes fly - they don't always seem intuitively the shortest - but they are. I have read that Seattle is a day's sail closer to Tokyo than Los Angeles - that is why so many Japanese cars come into Seattle.

Hmnn... Los Angeles is closer according to this site: SEA DISTANCES - VOYAGE CALCULATOR. Honolulu-LA is 2,231 miles while Honolulu-Seattle is 2,403. Must be some other reason.
