Haven't flown on a plane in over 10 years. So on hotels.com I book a flight & hotel for 3 nights to Las Vegas round trip $335 not bad. However I scroll to the bottom of the page in small print, it says doesn't include baggage fees.
So I pick up the phone & call Hotels.com about baggage fees, agent says it's $25 per baggage round trip on Delta airlines, in my case I have one carry on & one baggage so $50
It would have been convenient if they just include baggage fees with the total flight & hotel package when you book it online but they don't. Agent said I have to pay the baggage fees separate at the time I arrive at the airport.
Yea exactly it's not possible. Some people will only have a carry on for the trip, some might want two large bags, some might have status on the airline and not have to pay for the bag. So it makes perfect sense that they do not charge for something like that.
You're going for three nights. What on earth could you possibly need that won't fit into a 20-21" roll aboard and a small personal item. (Tote, pocketbook, briefcase, camera bag, etc.)

I agree...and even if the OP hasn't flown in decades, the 'checked baggage charges' are in every medium of news, nearly every day.
