Hi everyone!

I will be stopping by Istanbul for 14.5 hours (7.15am to 9.55pm) this week. Are there any suggestions as to what I can do in such a short time?

Would it be possible to visit the Hagia Sophia or to try a Turkish bath in the city?

Also, for those of you who have been to Istanbul airport, is it safe to sleep over in the airport at night?

14.5 hours is a short time?

What airline are you flying? I think Turkish airlines organizes city tours for layovers over a certain amount of time.

Plan on about 1 hour each way. You can take a taxi or metro/tram. Go to Sultanahmet, that is the tourist section and where the Blue Mosque and Haiga Sofia are located. You will find Turkish Baths as well. The Grand Bazaar is close as well. You can walk to the Bosphorus from there. Go to Galata tower and check out the view. The local pedestrian/shopping street is Taksim.
