Thank you all for all your suggestions. My mom and dad reached Dallas last night.

1. Total time between deplaning at Terminal 5 and reporting at the Terminal 3 gate tool close to 2 hrs.
2. From Terminal 5, they went down two flight of stairs, got onto a train that deposited them at the location from which the bus to Terminal 3 runs.
3. They had to pass through immigration control where there US visas were checked.
4. Dad mentioned checking-in as well but I am not sure why he had to do it considering the fact that I had completed their web-check-in while they were in India and emailed them their boarding pass.

Strangely, even though I had selected exit row seats for them, they were not allowed to sit in them because supposedly he was not young enough to sit in those seats. My dad is 55 and in good shape.

Is your mother in the same shape? How is there command of english?

All people in the row must meet the exit row rules, If they felt your mom and/or dad would not meet the rules they would move both. Also the exit row, is generaly given to there Freq Flyers as the row has more leg room.

Thanks for letting us know! I'll bet you're relieved they arrived safely, and only moderately frustrated...
