My friends have been trying to convince me in going for past few months, but i haven't decided yet. I was planning to visit Prague next year instead. I wonder how difficult it is for a U.S Citizens to get a visa from the DPRK . My friend's Aunt lives in HCMC and mentioned about it being cheaper from there to Pyongyang rather than through Beijing....not sure if it was through another travel tour or not. She had studied for a couple of years in N.Korea during the late 80s.

There is this one European gentleman who went last year and taped his trip. He uploaded it to YT.

North Korea? No. The thrill of possibly getting thrown in prison because of the color of my passport is too much adventure for me.

There are too many other interesting places to visit.

In summer 2011, I visited Dandong, China, directly across the Yalu River, which separates China from North Korea. Quite a few Chinese tourists also visit Dandong so that they can catch a glimpse of how China may have been during the 1960s. A boat cruise, which gets very close to the North Korean side, is also very interesting. At night time, the difference between China's neon lights and North Korea's darkness is also quite interesting to me.

More interesting places? Yes, but no place is more fascinating to me than North Korea.

Which country has more freedom-Saudi Arabia or North Korea? Yet we are big friends with Saudi arabia and hate North Korea.

I'm not big friends with Saudi Arabia and I would not vacation there, either. North Korea is a lot more open about their desire to lob nukes at us.

I never heard of any North Korea govt. saying they will lob nukes at US. Can you show any reliable links telling that??? All I know is that 9/11 was committed by people from saudi arabia.
