Looking for a place to stay that is centrally located so that we can travel around New England for a month or two. We would use it instead of traveling from motel to motel. Do not want to drive a motor home. Not going to be doing this immediately but trying to get ideas.

Try airbnb.com; wimdu.com; apartments.com.
They might be able to give you some ideas.

On the first two, you can filter for wifi, tv, entire apartment, etc.
When I travel in winter, I use airbnb.com almost exclusively.
