Ive used priceline a couple of times before, because you can almost name your price, as long as its within reason. The only downside to that is, they choose the airline, what time of day your plane leaves and returns. Sure, you can change the time if you dont like it, but they charge you $100 for doing so, but for that price, you may as well have booked with expedia or something. But I've gotten some pretty good last minute deals through them.

I used priceline.com for hotel booking most of the time in the past a few years and have been very pleased with the price. Before I bid, I always went to website like BiddingForTravel.com or similar sites to look for information. People post their winning/losing bids, hotel names and dates there. This information give me pretty good idea how much to bid on and which hotel I might get.

As a hotel reservations manager, we use Priceline extensively as well as Hotwire, Expedia, Travel Worm, Trip Reservations and can say without a doubt, ALL are extremely safe, reliable ways of booking rooms. ONE caution.....make certain that you read ALL of the companies rules and regulations....their cancellation and change policies may be quite restrictive.

I have used Priceline only for hotels, but I have never been disappointed. I got an ocean front room at a nice hotel in Hilton Head, SC for only $70 a night, less than half the price it would have been had I booked though the hotel. I wouldnt use it for flights unless I had a pretty open availability.

Priceline is fine until you have to call them for a change. First, the call gets transfer to India, then almost no changes are allowed, they love to say NO without even trying. I rather use Expedia.
