I mostly book direct. I travel alot with my husband - work is paying for his ticket so I end up buying for whatever flight/airline he's on. Booking direct also allows me to tae a peek at my mileage statements.
I fly my mom out quite a bit to see her grandaughter (MN to San Diego) - I feel a bit foolish but only recently did I discover Sun Country airlines , they are very small but often cheaper than the major carriers on the MSP to SAN route.
I like/use Travelocity exclusively for booking air flights. Used to use their packages to include my rental car and motel, but found it was MUCH cheaper to book those directly with the rental car agency and motel of my choice.
I book direct for flights and use bookings.com for hotels...i will probably start trying priceline.com in the near future.
