hello guys i'm a dual citizen with passports from both countries and one is a US passport other is Thai. I plan to visit Bolivia and
use my other passport because ill pay $135 for a visa if i enter using my US passport and visa free if i use my Thai passport. I'm just curious about those who have used their other passports and came back to the US. I know i'll have to use my US passport to exit and enter the country. Will immigration detain me if they don't see a visa stamp on my US passport because I used my other passport? Thanks in advance!

US is only going go care that you did not travel to someplace the US citz are not allow do go to. They don't care if have / don't have a visa to some other random country.

US want to make sure you are allow to come into US legally. Btw, US does not 'scan' your passport outbound, but the airlines do supply that info to them. If you 'drive' out of the US, Mexico/Canada might send the data back over to the US.

(I'm willing to guess) that the US has a database that matches your US and Thai Usage across the world thru a common international data sharing system (Interpol?)

It'll be fine. All you need is your US passport to go through US immigration. Use the Thai passport to enter and exit Bolivia. You need the entry and exit stamps in the same passport, or there will be a problem.

I did the same thing the other week going to Brazil to bypass their $100+ visa using an EU passport.

Good luck.

As already said you should have no problem. The USA is only interested in that you enter and exit the USA legally.
