5-10 plastic grocery bags. They are good as a trash bag in the car, a palce for wet swimsuits, a good place for dirty clothes and the like.

Default Try to keep an _____ in my luggage

My list of items that I try to keep in my luggage (have another one for everyday use) so I won't forget:

  • Two zip-loc bags (one gallon and one sandwich size).
  • A plastic grocery bag (to store dirty or wet clothes until I can do laundry or return home).
  • band-aids
  • Deodorant
  • umbrella
  • matches (small pack)
  • magazine (during unexpected down time, I can catch up on my mags)

I usually have the problem of packing too many different things, and then having to lug around too many suitcases. My goal for my next big trip is to just take a carry-on bag. In that bag I'll have a few items of clothing, camera, and perhaps a small laptop computer along with my toiletries. Anything else I need I can buy whatever I'm going. Of course, you can't forget your passport.

My credit card. If I've forgotten something I need, I buy another one.

The only critical things to remember are my reading glasses and my cell phone. Although, I can get along without the cell phone. I survived just fine before cell phones existed.

I always pack cold/flu medication, kleenex in those little pocket sized packages and throat lozenges. I seem to ALWAYS get a head cold when I travel. I also pack the cork screw. Hotel rooms rarely provide those :-)

My husband wears a sleep mask, because he has a hard time sleeping unless the room is pitch black and there's something putting pressure on his eyes. We always have to remind ourselves to pack the sleep mask.

(I wonder how he manages to fall alseep in front of the TV without it. I'll have to ask him that sometime.)

Yes! An absolute must! I hate getting clean clothes mixed up with the dirty ones in a suitcase. I've taken grocery bags before and they've been wonderful.

Anything I may have forgotten and feel I need can be easily purchased when I arrive at my destination
