tipping is a very personal thing, so how much one tips is up to the individual: here is what we do: $1.00 a day per person for the housekeeper: $2 for the valet, when he/she brings the car and the taxi driver, it depends. We usually just round it up: like the taxi ride is $27.00 we give the driver $30 or $22.00, $25.00, a lot depends on how much they do, other than the driving: do they help with luggage, do they hold doors open, etc. If we use a van for say service from the airport to the car rental place or from the hotel to the airport, we usually tip about $1 per bag, they handle. If there are no bags, except what we are handling (rare) we give them a couple of $$s.

I'd agree - we fregquently travel to Waikiki. While most of the hotels on the strip have self-parking, it is often difficult to find a spot in the garage.

we did valet and they lost our car too, no one was talking to us they told us to go back to the front of the hotel, we did , still no car 20 minutes later they found the car no apology no tip, sorry we were late for reservations and no more valet
