Clever thread idea, and have always been attracted to islands:

Staten Island, Long Island, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Grande Island, Goat Island, Ocracoke and the Outer Banks, Florida Keys, Naples (FL), Venice Island (Los Angeles), Naples Islands (Long Beach), Balboa Island, Terminal Island, Angel Island, Treasure Island, Sherman Island, Alameda Island, Alcatraz, Capri, Corfu, Ishcia, Venice, Sicily, Sardinia, Malta, Mallorca, Minorca, Crete, Taiwan, Macau, Oahu, Java, Borneo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Koh Samui, Phuket, Luzon, Mindanao

And gosh, anyone who's lived in the Pacific NW alone has been on dozens of 'em, including:
San Juan Island, Orcas Island, Lopez Island, The Gulf Islands, Vancouver Island, Mercer Island, Harbor Island, Bainbridge, Anderson, McNeil, Fox Island

Have lived on several:
Whidbey Island, Vashon/Maury Islands, S. Miami Beach, Key Largo, Bali

Although, does currently living in a NorCal "cultural island", surrounded by a "sea" of rural conservatism count...?

I have no idea of the number I've been on. Lots.

Has anyone listed Tom Sawyer's Island at Disneyland? That may just be the island I've been on the most, lol.

There's no bridge to Sicily. There's been a planned one over the Strait of Messina, but it was cancelled once and it was sort of unofficially cancelled after Berlusconi left office. You can take the ferry, fly, or take a train to Messina which is then transported on a ferry. But train service itself has been cut down since most people just fly low cost carriers to Sicily these days.

I've been to many islands in Florida, and also a few in New York City.

Outside of this country independently:

Bahamas (Grand Bahama, Grand Abaco, New Providence, Eleuthera)
Jamaica
Dominican Republic (part of Hispaniola)
Guadeloupe
Trinidad
Margarita Island (Venezuela)
Isla Mujeres (Mexico)

On a cruise:
St. Kitts and Nevis (both islands)
St. Martin
Antigua and Barbuda
Guadeloupe
Dominica
Martinique
St. Vincent
Grenada
Trinidad

(I've been to Jamaica, Guadeloupe, and Trinidad twice.)

Correct. Since, for seismic and water current reasons, they cannot put the towers into the Strait, the towers would have had to be on land. That makes for a ridiculous span of 1.5 miles. The towers at each end would have had to be as tall as the Twin Towers of the WTC. A lot of people thought it was a bridge to nowhere, given that Sicily's road infrastructure is way less than optimal. It would have been more of a "monument" than anything practical.
