It wont take even half an hour. Head towards downtown through wilshire. Pass western and you will see a jumbotron on the right. Pass it and make right on the next light. There will be a sign that says "stargate". Stop at the booth and tell the teller where you are heading(the price varies on distance). Tell them your heading to dubai, they will then direct you to one of the 10 terminals. It looks like a giant car wash. Park on the square and wait for the light to turn green, once it does, the gate will open and you simply drive through it and arrive in dubai.

If you fly nonstop: 16 hours.

If you fly via Oklahoma City, Havana, Keflavik, Milan Malpensa, Zagreb, Kiev, and Ankara: about a week.

Does Emirates now do a nonstop with a jumbo from LA? Not when I was a kid. Maybe now.

I know they do Toronto-Dubai with a double decker Airbus 380! Saw it last month while changing planes in Toronto. Huge, but what an ugly ass plane.

They do SFO-Dubai nonstop with an A380. Not sure what equipment they use for LAX-Dubai.

Ever looked at Expedia, Travelocity, etc.? Emirates, non-stop 15 hrs. 45 mins from LAX. Not the cheapest, but quickest. Many, many other options with stops/connections.

Thank you. It's probably a 380 or a 747-400. Never liked the 777.

EK uses a 777-200LR for DXB-LAX, flight time about 16:20h and retour 15:40.
As far as I know, SFO is a 777-300ER most of the time.
Those are really long flights, JFK or YYZ is much less.
