Does anyone requested to get a passport "in the hurry" ( 14 days ) and what were the requirements?
I was about to book my travel last week, when I realized that my passport was expired. I need to go overseas and now is the right time, but this is not a life and death situation.
I can't buy a ticket with expired passport - first because I need to put in the number of the passport when booking ( when I put in the wrong number that would complicate the whole process), second - I am not going to risk so much money not knowing if I will get the passport on time.
Any ideas?
You can book an international ticket without entering your passport number.
Best way to renew your passport in short time is physically go to a passport office. You do need to make a reservation as they will not let you in the door without one. I had to pay extra to have it expedited and fed ex. You will not receive it that day though. I went to the office on Sat. and received my passport that Tues. Remember to bring all the neccessary documents.

Yup. In my American city I have been to the passport office last month and was told that I could get a passport with a one day turn around, in person (no reservation necessary), for $60 more than going to the post office and mailing all the paperwork to never never land.
Very true. I did as you guys told me, and got my passport over the weekend. I didn't had a reservation and I was asked to write a statement that I intend to travel within a week ( I wonder who is going to check on that?)
The fast service cost extra $60 and just show how they drag their feet for non-payers.
There is a company called RushMyPassport that could substantially shorten the time. Worth a look if time is an issue.
