Please help. I travel from Knoxville to south Alabama frequently. How can I get from the airport area to I 59 toward Birmingham and avoid I 24. I don't know why but I panic everytime I get on 24. I am willing to take any detour. I don't mind getting on 24 past the heaviest traffic. Thanks

You might get local help by posting this topic in the Chattanooga forum.

I've never actually driven through this area, but glancing at a map, it looks like your best bet would be to get off of I-75 south @Exit 7/Bonny Oaks Dr., go west to TN-153 North, take this 2 miles to Exit 6/Amnicola Hwy which runs into Riverside Dr; continue on that to US-27 South, which will get you back on I-24 West a couple miles later just south of downtown Chattanooga.
