LV can be quite cool xmas wk. and some of the hotel pools are closed. It can be fun and lots of side trips are available.

San Antonio is VERY nice at Christmas (canal Lights). Can be chilly, but only fresh and Brisk compared to NYC, The mission tour is really nice too.

I will be in SA in Dec, but Thailand for Christmas (I hope..) Nice and Warm there, and cheap medical vacation. get your eyes, teeth body all tuned up in one trip and have vacation too!

Have you considered an all inclusive in the Caribbean? You'd need to get passports unless you are going to Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands, but you still have time for that as long as you apply NOW.

You've been to Orlando, but have you really seen the area? Forget the tourist spots. We have museums, galleries, great performing arts, and plenty of restaurants that tourists never find out about. Consider staying at the Grand Bohemian in Downtown Orlando and see what the City Beautiful actually offers outside the theme parks.
Very interesting point. We were thinking about going to Florida for a few days then going on a cruise but since it's only the 2 of us on a boat, it'd be kind of boring.

We were thinking of San Antonia since we have a relative there but it'd mean bothering them a lot for driving around.

We went to Thailand a few years ago and it could've been nicer since we went on a tour. Pattaya Beach is definitely a great place to visit.

You can rent a car if under 21 (Enterprise I think...) I get my cars for $10 - $16 / day in SAT.

There are buses and canal shuttles and tours that would ease any obligation for transportation burden of relative. They can drop you off in AM and fetch you in evening.

SAT is pretty 'walkable' and is VERY nice at Christmas.

Not sure why it would be boring? My husband and I love taking cruises--with just us. We can either spend time together or meet new people, whichever appeals to us at that moment.

Not getting a rental if under 21 for that price, even from Enterprise. They charge at least a $25/day surcharge.
