Saudi Arabia is not considered a direct neighbor of Israel. (They don't share a land border.)

Israel is a civilized, developed western country. It's like traveling to Belgium.

Not always. Winters can be pretty nasty, with snow. But the kinds of things that travelers need advice or warnings about, it's pretty much the same.
