I'm trying to find a simple round-trip from California to Vegas, but there's always at least 1-stop (usually in Phoenix)! WHY do they do this & HOW do I find non-stop flights? I just want to go the little 45 min it takes to go to Vegas & back...is that too much to ask?!

If anyone knows any sites where there are 0 layovers, please let me know, thanks!

Thanks for checking, but I just went to Orbitz just now too & everything still has at least 1 stop. Maybe it's the dates I want to go: Depart 12/26 & Return 12/29. I finally found a 0 stop flight through Southwest Airlines! There shoudl still be more somewhere. I tried Kayak, Priceline, Delta Airlines, etc., etc., etc.

I found a bunch of SW flights on 12/26 (Non Stop) from both LAX and SNA from $77 Coming back is going to be harder alot of after Xmas traffic on 12/29 & 30 .. But there are some good fares left. (Not many).

Where are you trying to fly out of?

If they have you changing in Phx its because your on US Air or SW that is their hub. The cheaper routing much of the time will be with a stop in Phx, rather than the nonstop to Vegas. Its easier and alot cheaper half the time just to drive between LA and Vegas.

And Jimrob1, I'd much rather fly. My goal is to get there fast, not take 1/2 the day getting there & 1/2 the day getting back. I've driven to Vegas before with my parents when I was a child...well, I didn't do the driving back then. When I have more time for a road trip, I'll do it then.

If you are only looking to depart from Ontario Airport, you are limited to Southwest Airlines (the only one flying nonstop on that route). Ontario is not a major airport and has VERY high landing fees for airlines. Most travelers to Vegas are looking for a bargain fare and given a flight time of about 45 minutes, its hard to make much of a profit on a Ontario - Las Vegas route with the high landing fees.

If you were looking at LAX, you'd have many more options.

Okay, I did a search on Orbitz. I checked the box for Other airports within 80 miles of Ontario CA, put in your dates, checked Non-stop Flights and got 8 different airlines offering me non-stop flights out of LAX, Long Beach and Burbank. If you can possibly drive to one of those instead it mght make your life a bit easier.

Forever, it isn't that bad of a drive, especially from San Barnardino but I don't think I would want to plan on doing it the last week of Dec due to possible weather problems over the pass. I do know, there are many non stop flights out of Ontario. Why you can't find them I don't know, unless it has to do with the really slow season, which is what the week between Christmas and New Years is.
