It depends on who I'm going with. If I were going with friends, definitely Miami. Great night clubs, restaurants and shops!
If it were a family or romantic vacation, I'd go to the Bahamas because I think it's more laid back and there are lots more activities suited to a family or just for two - snorkeling, boat tours, kayaking, fishing...

I wouldn't pick either for a beach vacation, I think. At least not Nassau--I dislike that place. Now the out islands, yes. And Miami? Meh.
