Yeah, that's why I liked it so much. My favorite US climate would be Miami in the Summer time. Cartagena just makes it better, and does it year round

Yep. Water softener is a wonderful invention, but have you ever tried to install it in a 12th century house (the exterior walls were erected in 1174 to be exact) where the last renovation of the plumbing system was dated the year WWII ended? I have. And gave up because of the cost.

PS: The age of the house is not an abnormality. Half of the structures in many old towns Italy are probably older than my house.

I can DEFINITELY see where that would be a problem.

FYI, as a kid I lived for a time in a 400-year-old chateau in Verdun France - so yeah, I most definitely understand. Heck, we didn't even have an indoor toilet, but instead had to use an outhouse (NO fun in the winter).

I like hot and humid. Southeast Asia or Central America lowlands would be good for me. And the houses are designed that AC is not needed.

For me If I ever got a chance to settle some where round the globe I would say Malta. I think it is one of the best climatic places on the earth with cool and comfortable whether. By flight it takes an hour to reach Malta from Rome.

Hawai'i. Constantly warm year round, but not oppressively hot. Just perfect.
