Okay so i had a thread about my daughters Grad. trip ideas. But now she has plans right after graduation. So She will be 18 On Jan. 16 and I want to wake her up and say, "Good Morning, get up, lets go!" And I will take her somewhere warm, tropical, she is still a kid at heart, but she looks 25, so I want it fun, tropical, warm, cheap, and safe. I know Im asking alot, but IDEAS?
First place that comes to mind for me is Mexico....and regardless of what anyone may tell you, yes, Mexico IS safe, as long as you're not trying to vacation in a border town, which is common sense, I'd think.
You can do the Yucatan (Cancun/Playa del Carmen area, for example) or go to the Pacific side (Puerto Vallarta/Ixtapa). There are great deals to be found for areas all over Mexico that would fit your requirements.
A parental thought regarding an 18-year-old girl: CB's idea of a cruise is perfect! You can keep an eye on her and yet share a fabulous, exotic, grown-up, fun experience together, and both of you will be completely taken care of.
There aren't many Caribbean cruises leaving from Colorado :-) but getting to Miami can be fun too. Some cruises are as short as 3 days, I believe. I think the best start at 5 days.
Another idea: Peru -- Miami to Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Urubamba or Pisaq, maybe Arequipa, Lima, Miami. Journey of a lifetime...
You'd need passports, but visas are not required of U.S. citizens to enter Peru. Journey of a lifetime... Memory of a lifetime...
