Don't get into a car accident in Mexico, they will make your life HELL. Our friend was killed in Mexico last month and $$$ is the only way to get your loved one's body released. The local gov put the blame on the other driver, but they still 'needed' money to release his body. This friend LOVED Mexico. For years he lived there all year or part of the year. He knew how corrupt their system is after a crazy experience owning some resturants in Cabo. So when his wife had to pay $30k to get his body released, none of us were surprised.

Sorry to be so negative. Drive safely.

Blueboy 700 is on a distinguished road
Hello everyone:

I am contemplating riding a motorcycle from San Diago Cal to Cabo San Lucas Mx...how often can one find premium fuel, food and lodgings...and can anyone tell me what condition the roads are in, on a scale of one to ten.

regards

Blue

You need to get a map of Baja.

Not sure of the bikes mileage per gal.

You can go from TJ to Guerras Negro in one day...plenty of gas on the way. Fill up at Negro... stay at motel overnight...cross to Santa Rosalia and fill up again which will take you down to Loreto or Mulege for gas or motel again. Then to Constitution...big city...gas again and on towards La Paz.

From La Paz you can go on the Sea of Cortez side or just south of La Paz there is a turn off towards Todos Santos which I like better for the beachs and the quiet view (surfers etc) then on to Cabo.

Enjoy your trip. A map would show the miles or Km from town to town...which should help on your gas question. Pemex has Reg and Premium.

I have in the past driven south many times to Cabo when they still had the ferry to Puerta Vallarta.

Steve

My advice: Fly to Cabo, take a luxury bus back to the border. I rode a luxury bus in Mexico one time with a wet bar at the back of the bus. Most comfortable.
