Yep. I haven't been able to find better rates than Costco rental cars in several years.

Their cruise prices are sometimes very good as well, but I prefer dealing with my TA. She works hard for the money, and I appreciate her time and efforts. (If anyone wants her name, shoot me a PM)

there's no pros and cons; just use them to get the best deal. each of them will get you different options.
Travelocity, kayak, cheapoair, expedia, hotwire and dont forget to check individual airlines

Actually depending on the company, there are a lot of discount codes you can use that give you a far better deal. Just google car rental discounts or whatever.

The discount via Priceline isn't in the list price, it's in the bidding process which you didn't do. Do your research and you can probably save another $50-75 of US Air's price if you are willing to take the chance of an odd flight time, etc.

Expedia: $1,182... Skyscanner: $1,108... directly from SWISS: $1,277

We can play this game forever, the point is that if you want the best price, you have to check multiple places, and then you can check to see if you get the same deal by directly going with the airline.

There are good deals on hotels with Priceline. You have to be patient and actually wait till the nearest date of when you're about to leave in order to get a good deal. I would recommend the OP use Priceline for hotel accomodations. I've used it a few times and saved alot of $. My co-worker just saved almost $200/night for 3 nights at a Vegas hotel in early May. It isn't flexible like other sites, but if $$ is the bottom line, it will be just fine.

I've never used it for international travel though. Anyone know if it is pretty good for international travel as far as hotels? Will they actually honor the prices once you get there? Just curious.

I've never used Priceline, but the only downside I have for Orbitz is that they no longer list US Airways/American (they couldn't work out a deal with the airlines). This sucks as I've relied on Orbitz in the past and generally have found the best deals on that site. However, US Airways/American is my frequent flyer carrier and I've come to close to a free international trip to change that
