Question No Dry Ice?

I always thought people recommended Dry Ice for flights, and Gel packs, so no water would be able to leak out?

I sometimes carry a soft sided collapsible cooler smashed flat in my checked luggage. I don't buy one at my destination because everyone else has thought of that and the stores are all out of the cheap ones.

We use coolers as luggage all the time when fishing in Alaska. The salmon is smoked, packed in that shrink wrap plastic stuff and then packed in the cooler with those frozen blue ice things and it all arrives home in perfect shape.
