Singapore Airlines and the old SwissAir were decent. These days- well, I'm not going to make the food a significant factor in my airline choice, the only impact it has is on my defensive measures (how much food I take with me and what type).
In general it's a bad idea to get on a plane hungry even if it is scheduled as a short flight. And it's smart to take some non-perishable food. (Nuts are a favorite of mine; and cheese sandwiches don't need to be refrigerated).
Worst meals. Any United Airlines coach class flight from California to Asian destinations like Hong Kong, Singapore or Tokyo. I usually buy a sandwich in the terminal and bring it to my seat.
It's almost always some variation of chicken and rice served in a paper thin plastic tray. It tastes like the plastic seeped into the food when the flight attendants warmed it up. United is also fond of serving a disgusting foul smelling fish paste on white bread as a snack.
US domestic carriers are all pretty terrible. I've actually had good luck on British Airways. I had a nice chicken curry dish last time I flew with them.
Which airline has the best in flight meals and which has the worst ??
Your opinions ??
Meals? HAHAHAHA, are you serious?
Oh yeah the peanuts are great on Delta but I like the pretzels on United.
Since you, I guess, are from Singapore you should realize that meals have practically disappeared from US domestic flights, at least in coach class. And most of the posters are of that background. If you really want an opinion you should check out FlyerTalk forum or something.
From my limited experience (I fly international, but mostly on one airline to maximize FF points) - probably Singapore Airlines is the best, for first/business class. Do they still have the "book the cook" feature?
