I have been to all 50 states. The final two were Nebraska and South Dakota. I have been to Nebraska ten times since as it has become one of my favorites.

OP here. Speaking of NE & SD, I lived in Nebraska for two years and have been back twice. Been to SD once (Mt Rushmore) and was awe-struck at the beauty of that area.

Wow, there are so many people who have traveled extensively in the US (10+ states). I love it!! I'm so proud of myself because I grew up in a family in which, with the exception of one road trip from TX to Denver courtesy of my dad, we never traveled more than 120 miles away from home (that was only to visit my grandmother in a small country town during the summers). Consequently, I thought traveling was something that only "rich people" did. That changed when I was hired as a staff person on a 50-city US national tour via a rock & roll tour bus (equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, dining area, bed bunks, and a sitting room in the back). Our road manager scheduled tourist sites for us to visit on our days off based on where were at the time. She had been to many of these places during her childhood family vacations. At the end of that job in 1997, I'd been to 47 of the 48 contiguous states via road trip; was still missing North Dakota. Also, I still hadn't been to Alaska and Hawaii but I was now hooked on traveling and have been doing so ever since. I've been back to many of the states numerous times and spent more time as a tourist when possible. Went to AK twice (work-related) as I stated earlier and I've finally made it here to ND. I'm glad that I got the chance to see all 49 states of our beautiful country while I was still young enough (even older) to enjoy them. Each state had some beauty even though you may not see it from the major interstates. Each region of the country has it's own unique terrain/topography in my opinion. Hawaii on the bull's eye next... and my new goal will become international travel.

39 -- all except those in the SE, and I've long wanted to take an extended tour of them.

I'm missing: Maine, Wyoming, Montana, South and North Dakota, Alaska, Mississippi, Alabama, and Hawaii. So that makes 41. I lived in DC for several years, so I've got that covered. I've been on three continents, all above the equator, so I only know one way water goes down the drain.

Sell Arkansas as a giant spa vacation. I spent a long weekend in Hot Springs and had a GREAT time - a full old-fashioned spa day, just like it was at the turn of the century Plus lots of good hiking, a great museum, and, not too far away, a park where you can hunt for diamonds!

I've been to 20 states (plus a few hours each in 3 more, but since I didn't actually leave the airport, it doesn't count), Puerto Rico, DC, and the US Virgin Islands.

I think I've been to 14 other countries.

ETA: I'm 36, so I have plenty of time to up my count

20 plus DC and 5 foreign countries in North America and Europe.

I really thought I had been to more than 20 states. I do plan to visit them all if I can at some point.

The states I've been to are pretty well scattered around and include Hawaii, but not Alaska. I've been on both coasts in both the northern and southern parts, but haven't been to most of the Midwestern and New England states, as well as a few each in the other regions.
