I have an Orbitz rewards card and from my experience, I believe Orbitz is superior to sites like Expedia and Travelocity. The only thing that disappoints me is that their rewards points, or "Orbucks", can only be used to get discounts on hotels. Do you think they will ever extend this rewards program to include flights and rentals?
No. They can't make enough money that way because they can't negotiate with the airlines the same way they can with certain hotel chains.
Personally, I RARELY find that any of these sites beats going directly to the provider of the flight or the hotel room. One exception: Costco for rental cars.

I get way better deals with discount codes on the actual car sites than I've ever found at Costco . Do a search for ____________ Rental Cars discount codes .
