I prefer to visit new places, but I return to Germany often mostly to visit friends.

If I enjoy a place I tend to go back. It doesn't have to be a country, but even US states I have my favorite places that I try to go back to as often as I can.

A mix, for international I go to new places every time, for domestic generally I go to places I know... the trips are shorter and I go places I know I like and know the way about.

I'd prefer to see something different every time. There's still so much I want to see, yet we keep going back to Maine. It's been almost two years since we've been back and it's been calling me a lot lately. There's something about Maine that gets in your blood.

I've only been out of the country once, to Malaysia. Tragic, I know. But I am going to Nicaragua in November, yay!!! So, I can't really answer this question because basically I haven't traveled, lol. However, I would prefer to go to new countries since there are many places I want to experience. But, I do go up north frequently throughout the year, it's my happy place. It never gets old.

Mostly new places. Travelling is expensive, why not make the best of it and see more interesting places.

Although I have visited NYC, LA, Boston, Chicago and San Fran multiple times due to the friends over there.

Some countries are so expensive to fly to, ie: Australia.

What I wish and what I do are different 'sigh'. I wish I had the time, $, and years - a few hundred I guess - to live 6 months to a year in all the places I'd really like to know, learn about.

What I do 'cause I have to be choosey with international stuff, is go back to the places I love, often where extended family live - lucky for me they are great places to go.

Road trips are a different thing. Often have multiple destinations on people's "interest" lists - baseball stadiums, Frank Lloyd Write houses, older type amusement parks, natural things like caverns etc.

Long weekends in 'local' cities are a special pleasure - I could go to NY, Philly, DC, Boston, Baltimore & back on a train in a day or much less - but spending a long weekend is like meeting an old friend & usually discovering new things.

I generally prefer to go to new places, but I left a piece of my heart in the country where I studied abroad in college. I returned 2 years later for an internship, and now that it has been several years since then I have a serious longing to go back and visit. Too bad it costs $2500+ and requires at least 3 flights to get there!

I love experiencing new cultures and countries, but I also love deeply exploring a culture and country. So it's a bit of both for me.

I could return endlessly to France, Italy, and Costa Rica.
