I've heard about it from new friends I've made, and I already know enough about how it works. I've also read enough reviews to know the cons and how awful it can be.

Does anyone have any personal experiences with this?

I wouldn't trust that the vehicle I was getting into was properly insured with a COMMERCIAL insurance policy.

I haven't personally used it but the common council here just lifted the cap on taxicab permits which allows Lyft & Uber to get in the game. Lyft has become a lot more popular here, I see them more & more often everyday. The only thing I would change is that stupid pink furry mustache on the front of the driver's car.

Uber is great. Used it quite a bit in Boston.

I've used Uber a number of times in Seattle. It's a bit of an extravagance, but the experience has been very pleasant every time.

I use uber sometimes. It is so helpful. Especially when you have a group, you can get an SUV. And the black cars are town car service companies.

Have you ever used it to get to the airport?

I've watched a YouTube video where a driver was being interviewed and he said the drivers have to "jump through more hoops" to be able to take you to your flight.

Both are new to Orlando. I've used Uber and it's a pleasant experience. No tips to worry about. They charge the card you have registered on the app. Usually way quicker than waiting for a cab. Lyft right now is giving out a bunch of free rides since they just broke into the Orlando market a week ago. Both are being targeted by police because of taxi cab driver grievances. Still way better than cabs even if there's a risk of the Uber/Lyft driver having his car confiscated.

Again, they do not carry the appropriate insurance, and if there was an accident, you might not be covered for your injuries or loss of property.
