Even IF you were to get one point per every £1 spent (and I doubt the program is that generous), are you really going to spend £122,000 by next summer?!?!

I have built many houses using my mileage card. $100k is ez to spend. I now use a no fee card that covers choice of airlines. United will work for star alliance. 20+ carriers

I signed upto mileage plus and then went to my ticket and put the details in and it award me 8,000 miles!

So happy, didn't think it would give me anything! I'm hoping i'll at least get money off if I can't build it up..

He's 18 years old. Somehow I don't see that type of spend in the next 10 months.

But anyway. I don't think I need to spend that?

United Airlines have deals for 15 miles/$.

We spent about $150K in one year on our affinity cards when we were building and furnishing our current home. It's not that difficult to do under certain circumstances. My annual business travel averages $30K or so, so there's a domestic ticket just for doing my job.

I'd like to see a web link showing that United will give 15 miles per $ spent.

I'm assuming that the 15/$ is for a limited number of merchants through United's shopping portal for a limited time. I get a few of those promotional e-mails every month, usually for something like sending overpriced flowers arrangements to someone.

I know I could spend that sort of money in the next 10 months. Now, paying it back would be another issue altogether.
