Delta is the best airline in the U.S., that is, if you are looking for fewer canceled flights or mishandled bags and on-time arrivals.
"Of course, we don't have a measurement for the widths of flight attendants' smiles or other intangibles, but if you look at the numbers, Delta comes out on top this year," said George Hobica, founder and president of Airfarewatchdog, which puts together the annual list.
I'm sure my son-in-law would disagree with this. Delta cancelled the last 2 flights into GSP just last night. Sure it was a bit stormy but I wonder when they started grounding planes because of rain?
I have always had good experiences with Delta and Northwest before the merger.
They may be 10-15 min late, but they always get me and my luggage where we need to go.
American on the other hand is the WORST airline EVER. I have flown on no-name Chinese and Egyptian airlines in old Russian planes that were better than AA.
That is crazy because I purposely never fly Delta due to all the cancelled flights/broken planes they have had. I've been stuck 3 of the 4 times I've flown Delta. Never again.
I'd rather have my flights a bit late than have to look at the sour faces and hear the grumbles of the flight attendants on Delta who obviously hate their job. And I have to fly with them next week.
Hilarious. I flew delta four times and had three delays. After that my wife and I started calling it "delay-ta". Flying on Southwest and Frontier I think we've had something like 8 flights with 0 delays. The sample sizes are small, but the difference is clear. Given the choice, I will absolutely fly southwest over any other airline. If southwest is not available, I will take frontier -- which might compete with southwest if it wasn't for the stupid TVs built in the seats on frontier planes. I hate the nickel and dime philosophy. Thought it was cool when I saw it, then asked for a credit card and I no longer considered them to be on the level of southwest.
PS. The article states that Delta was 6th last year. I haven't flown Delta in about 3 or 4 years because I had such terrible experiences with them. The article feels a bit like native advertising, which is where Delta pays CNN to publish an advertisement that is disguised to look like a news story.
