Interestingly enough, I was coming back from my tour of duty in japan for some leave time before my next duty station. The pressure during that 11 hour flight was some of the worst I felt.

You thought I was serious about "winning"? Lol, ok. Yeah, as I said, there was a layover in Taipei so no, the flight wasn't 18 hours.

Of course not my man. I wasn't serious about "cheating" either. Intention was strictly humour.

LAX-SYD and ATL-DXB. My goal is to knock out the three longest Delta flights soon. Still missing ATL-JNB.

Haha, my longest flight was from Cincinnati to San Francisco. I think it was about 5 hours. I definitely don't win.

It didn't read that way at all, just FYI.

OK how about the shortest commercial jet flight? I once flew from SD to LA and it took 30 minutes. I've taken commuter connections, island hoppers and private plane rides that were a little shorter, but if we're talking A to B travel in a full size jetliner, SD to LA wins.

I was on Pan Am/Aeroflot's inaugural Moscow-New York direct flight back in 1988. That was about 15 hours. Back when they allowed smoking on planes. Pretty dreadful. But I did get a little bronze sculpture as a souvenir!

Since then I've done a lot more traveling, and I think the longest flights were Boston-Tokyo (around 13 hours) and London-Cape Town (about 11.5 hours). The worst, though, was the first time I flew Boston-Dallas-Tokyo-Bangkok with really tight connections. The seven hour Tokyo-Bangkok segment seemed like the longest flight of my life!

Not very long for on here.

3,190 miles to Dublin to EWR. 6 hours and 40 minutes.
