I don't think the day before is procrastinating. I may think about what I plan to take before that, but I won't put anything in the suitcase until the night before.

Totally agree. I've never understood why peoole pack a week in advance. They must have a lot of extra clothes!
I travel a lot and live in a state of semi-packedness, so it doesn't take me too long. I just have to pack clothes, books/movies, and toiletries for the most part.
I keep a container of toiletries under the bathroom vanity, and replace anything that needs it upon return. That makes it very fast and easy to fill a bag the next time.
No. I usually start few days before traveling, put in first basic essential stuff that is really needed, and then add things that I think might be useful, or if weather change. Not many, though, because I like to travel light...
Like Mattie - all my basic travel stuff is always ready to use and kept together in one place.

This is me. Nothing goes in the suitcase any earlier than the day before the trip unless the item(s) were purchased specifically for the trip.
I pack right before I go (sometimes the night before). Travel toiletries etc. stay in a bag in the bathroom so I just have to grab it and toss it into the suitcase.
If I pack early, I end up taking more crap than I need. If I leave it until the last minute, I tend to zone in on only what I actually need.
