A lot of cheap Frontier Airlines fares have been coming across my screens when I receive my Airfarewatchdog.com e-mails.

Any opinions, experiences, or things that I need to know before using that airline?

The first time I ever flew was on Frontier Airlines. I was really impressed by how smooth the process was. On the way back the flight was delayed a few hours due to mechanical issue when I got the layover at denver they already had me reassigned to a different flight to Portland. I would defintaly fly again with them, but I use Alaska Air mostly since I have airline miles built up with them from when BofA had the Alaska Air Mileage Debit Card.

I fly a lot out of DEN, so I have had my share of flights on Frontier.

They used to be better before they went cheap. Now they just nickel and dime for everything. I much prefer to fly Delta or United when possible.

This. Frontier was good until they adopted the Spirit Airlines model. Now they're just another low-rent no-frills carrier.

We took Frontier just last month, after seeing those fares on airfarewatchdog.com (I always wanted to see the rock and roll hall of fame, so the super cheap introductory flights for RDU-CLE made it reasonably priced.) Perfectly fine flights. But be aware that they DO charge for carry on bags now, so that cheap airfare won't end up so cheap anymore.

Yes, they charge for everything except a cup of water. Make sure you have a debit/credit card if you want to buy a drink during the flight. On of their flights, I was sitting next to elderly gentleman who didn't have one and was lucky that they were willing to give him a free cup of water.

I have not flown Frontier since they stated charging for carry-on's. Looking at their website I see you can carry on a personal item for free. I like that they have defined what size it can be. I was getting tired of seeing passengers carry on a second "personal item" that was way too large to fit under the seat.

They are not a bad airline. Definitely no frills. I prefer them over United as the United employees I've dealt with are about as lazy and worthless as they come. However my preferred airline is Delta.

I check everything but my backpack. And my backpack fits under the seat. It's amazing the stuff that people carry on. I few with them in 2007 and they did not charge me for my backpack I carried on. It was morning flight and we got free doughnuts and drinks. The only thing that they charged for was the Direct Tv and alcohol. that would suck if things have changed.

Get ready. Lots of things have changed since 2007. No free donuts, drinks or backpacks on Frontier anymore.
