I have a flight to catch next week;
Houston-Istanbul-Amsterdam. There are few hours lay over at the airpot in Instanbul, i will spend a few hours in the transit area.
Any feedback how safe would this be?

Quite safe, as it's a secure area. Too bad the city is no longer the same. It used to be a very pleasant place to visit.

That's an unusual routing to Amsterdam. Turkish Airlines?

Yup the Iah-ist flight is round trip daily carrying a lot of freight cargo. I've flown it a number of times.


If you are connecting be prepared to go through a couple of security check points within the terminal, I hit 3 connect from Iah to Athens.

Geez man, talk about an indirect flight. The airport is fine, I would be more concerned that you are flying 1,000 miles in the wrong direction, and then 1,000 miles back.
