I thought the way society worshiped kids was bad enough, but now they are extending it to dogs? Geez. Kids screaming on a plane is annoying but dogs can bite me. I don't want to deal with that.

I despise selfish, narcissistic dog owners.

If you have a service dog, you're still liable for the actions of your dog.
And no, "comfort pets" are not "service dogs".

There are specific pat-down and TSA security requirements for service dogs:

Not true at all.

I think too many people get upset about nothing. Is it your dog? Does it put you out of your way? How many do you see in a given week? I have seen about 10 in my lifetime and I am in the DC area. I use to donate to a seiing eye dog foundation by the name of "Guiding Eyes". My neighbor has a dog trained to be one but is a pet.
My own dog is well behaved enough to take anywhere though he loves people too much. He smiles and goes out of his way to greet people while wagging his tail. He is my companion and goes everywhere with me. All I need is a vest and we are gold.

Those who complain need to get a life or a dog.
A service dog is a working animal and does not "go out of his way to greet people while wagging his tail."

I have three dogs, and I'd never be as ignorant as to try to pass them off for what they are not. It's an insult to those who actually use a service dog, not to mention bad karma.

United, American, US Airways and Delta all charge $125 each way. Southwest charges $95 each way.

I stand corrected. My dogs are 85 pounds each--I'd need to buy out the entire first class cabin to have room for them.

I don't get what the problem is. Were you bit? No? The dog & person were removed. End of story. Move on.

The problem is that idiots are making it more difficult for people who have an actual service dog who performs a task related to a disability in order for them to live a fuller life. If you don't see a problem with that, wow.

On top of that we were delayed which caused me to have to run like OJ to make my connection. So yes, it directly affected me.

Nope it is $125 each way. It is five in the main cabin, two in first class.
