I heard a lot of good things about Berlin and ended up pretty disappointed after visiting it for 5 days. A historical walk tour was quite interesting but overall the city didn't impress me that much.
And Berlin was one of my favorite parts of our trip. :-) I guess because I've been fascinated with communism since I was young, and because my German friend was with us there too, and could give us an insider's view of what it was like during the wall years and when it fell. I would definitely return to Berlin!

If you lived in the USA for 60+ years, youd know that most of the US is car-oriented. Even more so in the vast, expansive desert Southwest. I would not count this as a strike against Santa Fe.

Santa Fe has an amazing mix of European, Mexican, and Native American culture, cuising, architecture. And the surrounding Sangre de Cristo Mountains are spectacular, especially at dusk. Im sorry your experience in Santa Fe was an unpleasant one.
