Most hotels I wake up with a headache and neck ache, at least the first night. I sleep on my side almost 100% of the time and hotel pillows can be so thick and fluffy (trying to be luxurious) that they put my neck at a bad angle. Also, most rooms are super cold - especially in the summer. I do love hotels with the thick, heavy, high thread count sheets though!

Sometimes I sleep well, sometimes I don't. Noisy HVAC is probably the number thing that will prevent a good nights sleep.

Just stayed in a couple of fantastic boutique hotels in Washington state, slept like a rock every night.

Generally speaking, I tend to sleep better in hotels than I do in my own bed. At home, I'm often lucky if I can sleep for 4 hours at a time, but even if I get really lucky and sleep for 7-8 hours, it feels like I haven't slept at all. I was recently in Cincinnati for a bowling tournament and only got about 5 hours of sleep the first night, but I felt better than I had in a long time when I woke up.

I'm one of those lucky souls who can sleep anywhere: moving truck, motels, chair, beach, boring date etc.

Never realized so many folks could not sleep easily outside of their own bed.

I usually sleep well, way too tired to fuss about the bed. Few things are really helpful: non-smoker room, quiet location and not to soft pillows.

I usually sleep better at hotels versus home... Maybe the idea of being in vacation helps me to sleep better.
