Here's a list of the states I haven't visited:
Maine
Vermont
Rhode Island
Massechusetts
Florida
Visited Hawaii twice and Alaska once.
Guess I'll need 2 trips to hit them all.
Then I'll need separate trips to get to:
Puerto Rico
US Virgin Islands
American Samoa
Guam
Ahh, the joy of travel.

Well, I was in a number of states when I was a kid, but I can't remember specifically which ones, since I was two at the time. Later in my childhood I visited New York and Pennsylvania, lived in Missouri, and traveled through Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona while moving back to California.
As an adult, I've visited about half of the lower 48 states. Since it was mainly the western half, it's not that many, though it's most of the big ones:
California
Oregon
Washington
Idaho
Nevada
Arizona
Utah
Montana
Wyoming
Colorado
New Mexico
Texas
Oklahoma
Kansas
Nebraska
South Dakota
Of those, Texas and Oklahoma are the only ones where I have not stayed overnight at least once. I have traveled extensively over California, Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. Most of the other states listed I've only seen a small portion, or only been through a few times.
I still have a lot of states I'd like to visit. What I've been trying to do for the last few years is visit at least one new state each year. This past year, we added Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas to the roster. This coming year I'm thinking about adding North Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa or Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana, and possibly more.
On the other hand, I'm thinking about spending more time along the Oregon Trail route rather than visiting more states. I guess I'll have to wait until closer to summer to get it all planned.

All 48, not Hawaii or Alaska yet (saving the best for last). I've got post cards from all. I was a truck driver. There's a school activity where a trucker hooks up with a class of kids as their "Trucker Buddy." The trucker sends back cards and souviners to the school so the kids can follow his travels and learn about new places. It's fun!
