It seems like more and more flights are on Regional Jets these days. The ERJ-170-series are downright comfortable in all cabins and the ERJ-145s are decent when traveling alone (1-2 seating). That being said, I really don't like regional jets especially the Canadian Torture Tube in any of its lengths.

Hopefully with Delta picking up Airtran's 717s, they will be replacing smaller jets.

I was really impressed going on a 787 Dreamliner when I flew from Tokyo to Singapore last year. Very comfortable, and I like how you can adjust the tint on the windows with button (no shades to pull down and up). The 777's are also very good too.

My least favorite is easily DC-10. I remember flying on these when I was younger, and you would feel every little air pocket. I just don't think they were built very well.

My most commonly flown aircraft is the Boeing 737-800 which is also one of my favourite planes. I have had the opportunity to fly the 757-200 on a few transatlantic ventures, engine sounds on this plane are impressive too.

Bigger is almost always better, so I prefer the 777. I dislike the little regional jets. Their seats are very uncomfortable.

In general for large aircraft, I prefer Boeing over Airbus planes. For small commercial aircraft, I prefer jets over turboprop in general.

What a terrible plane for a long haul. Shoot me now.

Worst airlines: Delta and American Airlines. Do not even try to fly Delta even though it is international flight.
Best: Lufthansa, JAL and Cathay Pacific.

The most memorable flight we ever had was an "airplane ride" on a 1927 Ford trimotor. This was about 30 years ago and it was the only flight that I look back on and enjoy.
At one time I was a frequent flyer, but now I rarely ever fly anymore, it has become a pain. The planes and airlines are interchangeable and they all suck.

Some of the newer regional jets which have a first-class cabin are bearable, but most of them I despise. So of course my local airport is totally dominated by them.

Favorite, the unheralded Lockheed Electra, a fast, comfortable turboprop. I logged many many hours on the Aleutian chain in this bird -

Least favorite - I guess any of the three planes that I was in that had hard landings with broken bits (of the planes) left on the runway - a Grumman Goose, Piper Navajo, and a NAMC YS-11.

Of current machines, it's not the plane, it's the way the airline fills it. You can be supremely comfortable on a transatlantic 752, or miserable in a brand new 77W. Or vice versa. Airline/seat/service makes all the difference.
