Sometimes, no flight will get you there the fastest.

Two Kansas City reporters went to downtown KC to leave for St. Louis in a race to the arch. One want to a downtown auto rental agency, rented a one-way car, and drove the 250 miles to St. Louis, the other took a shuttle to the airport, flew to STL on the first flight, then the shuttle downtown. The guy in the car won, and paid less than half of what it cost the flier.
