One of my favorite cooking tools is a food steamer (Hamilton Electric). It's 2 tiered, and you can put protein on the bottom and veggies on top. It also cooks eggs. Cost is approx 29.00 usd.

I haven't taken it on the road, but definitely would if needed.

It cleans up easy, and cooks food quickly.

Local farm stands are filled with beautiful produce this time of year, and at good prices. A little good olive oil, salt & pepper, and you've got a feast.

Best wishes!

Yeah, I probably worded that poorly. We do go out for nice dinners. We usually enjoy a glass of wine and nuts in the afternoon on the balcony after returning to the room. I should have said I don't like spending money on snacks and alcohol on vacation.

Ask for a few slices of lemon, which they put free on the side with an iced tea order. The sugar is free, too. And it's real, wholesome sugar, not powdered toxins. For dessert, put sugar on the dinner rolls, then squeeze on the lemon juice. Lemon meringue pie never tasted better.
