I'm 6'6" so I fly 1st class if I can justify it. My company usually pays for Business Class on international flights and those are really nice as you can lay down and sleep, eat good food, drink nice wine....my company once paid $12K for a 1st Class flight on Korean Air which has an 78" bed so comfortable. When I pay for myself, I will compare prices and make a value judgment as to whether I'm comfortable paying it.

This is totally untrue. Here are some examples;

Cathay Pacific (77H) business seats are 21" wide and first is 36" wide.

American (77w) business seats are 26" wide and first is 30" wide.

Japan Airlines (773) business seats are 22.3 " wide and first is 33" wide.

If you think business and first are the same, it's probably because you haven't flown international first.

No, just misinformed. Have you ever flown international first class? There is a HUGE difference on many airlines.

Delta is the only one I know of that has eliminated first class.

Most of American's overseas routes (using 757s, 767s and 787s) don't have first class, ditto a good number of United's. None of Virgin Atlantic's do, nor Finnair, SAS, Iberia, Alitalia, Austrian, Aer Lingus, Lan, Air New Zealand and others.

I fly AA international first class from time to time. They still exist and are mostly 777s.

There is not. The airline I am booked on gives me a lie flat bed and about a 20 inch screen I believe. Free wifi and also great food.

I think you people are thinking of the fat chairs that don't recline into a bed. Yes there is a difference but most airlines now offer the flatbed in business hence little difference in product.

My first long haul flight still has fat chairs. Quite a few years ago now.
