All of you have seen the brown color signs on interstate of important recreation places before the exit. Sometimes we are very interested in going there but we are driving back home and don't have enough time....just curious to know if i can see all the recreation exits along I-40 in the state of NC, This way i will plan my trip to stop at some of these while on the way on a interstate road.

Sounds cool to do,,, But many of them are miles and miles off the interstate.

Could take a hour to get to it, hour back to interstate.

This is probably the closest you're going to find to what you're looking for.

It may be feasible , provided you are not in a rush. I've seen more of the signs in the mountains , but have only stopped at one or two of the places at most. I've thought of taking the car to the BRP , but will wait until late fall/winter when the tourism wanes. Depending on your point of origin , you should take exit 27 from 40 west , you can find some unusual and somewhat interesting place/sights along that route.
