Check the Groupon deals too. I cannot even begin to imagine spending $4000 in Cancun, ever, for a nice resort. If you want 5*-plus, yeah, you can pay $4000 but why on Earth would you even think about doing that?

Some people have no problem spending $4K. Some people want a five star.

If that is what they want, so be it.

By the way, I wouldn't go with anything under four star, particularly in the Caribbean.

Check out Southwest.com for vacation package to Cancun. I got very good deal going there in June from BWI.
