Turboprops are fairly common from GSP to CLT.. They're a little loud, but.. The only downside to them is that here in the southeast, PM thunderstorms are very common and a turboprop is far more likely to be cancelled due to storms.
That can happen on a jet. The problem there is unsecured cargo, not the model of the plane. That generally not going to be an issue on commercial passenger flights.
It can happen on a ferry, too.
I know when I ride the ferries, they have a strict loading procedure for where to place the cars.
