I like using any form of transportation where someone else is driving. Road trips are my least favorite form of travel. What can I say, I'm weird!

I too prefer to be a passenger rather than a driver in general. I prefer aircraft, trains or even buses rather than cars or ships/boats.

Depends how far I will have to travel. Any place I can get to within a day, then I would prefer using my own car. The train would be next, then flying. I would like to explore certain places just a little as I'm passing through, and local places to get a bite to eat.

I use planes for transcontinental and transoceanic travel. But otherwise I travel by bicycle. There is simply no better way to see and experience the world and become part of a community you pass through. The incidental benefit is that I am far less vulnerable to any human threats - robbery, kidnap, extortion.

(Note: most of my travel is not in tourist areas. Last year Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon. This year Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti again)
