I think most people don't realize that outside the commuter corridors, the acceptable degree of lateness on Amtrak is insane, like four hours. If it's less than four hours late, it's considered "on time."

Taking Amtrak is an adventure for most.

If you really have to be there on time, try hitchhiking.

The mom cuddled with her young son under a blanket asleep -- who was then awoken by the loud man staring at 2 a.m. at her -- was having "an adventure." Just not the kind most moms want to have.

I don't understand how people who make comments like you have here . . . manage to get such high ratings.

Very well put! (I'm definitely not up for a bus "adventure." Amtrak was plenty.)

I don't understand how some people have zero sense of humor.

Oh, my bad! Dry humor. I really dislike it when people can't tell when I'm goofing around. And here I commit the offense.

My apologies!!

Really, I am sorry. I usually can tell when people are kidding and I get annoyed w/ those who take offense at every little thing.

Kudos on your humor. Very dry. Which is funny!
